The Tactical Shooting Sports Association (TSSA) is launching in 2026 to define the future of the tactical athlete. We exist not just to host matches, but to build a tribe—a nationwide network of civilians and professionals united by a drive for self-improvement.

We believe that the ultimate test of marksmanship isn't static—it’s dynamic, exhausted, and under load. The TSSA is the proving ground where athletes combine physical dominance with precision fire.

The Global Standard

CLASSIFICATION & LEADERBOARDS

Leveling the Playing Field.

We are developing a universal Classification System intended for adoption by ranges across the country and the world. Our goal is to create a standardized metric that allows athletes to compare themselves against the community, regardless of where they train.

How It Will Work:

Global Leaderboard: Competitors will register with TSSA to gain access to a centralized, global leaderboard. See exactly where you stack up against athletes from other states and nations.
Standardized Equipment: To ensure our rankings measure skill and not just wallet size, specific Classification stages will require a Standardized Equipment List. We will release full details on the required weights and configurations soon.

The Climb: Standardized Classifiers will be released yearly. Establish your rank, then compete to climb the ladder until you reach the top of the sport.

[Our Programs]

1. RUN | LIFT | SHOOT (RLS) Series

The Main Event. The RLS Series is our premier competitive offering. This is where the points count and the rankings are earned. These are Sanctioned Tactical Two-Gun matches with integrated fitness components.

The Format: High-intensity stages blending mechanical shooting challenges with physical challenges.
The Stakes: This is a ranked environment. Classifiers provide an opportunity to improve your standing on the Global Leaderboard.
The Goal: To identify the most capable tactical athletes in the nation/world through standardized, objective scoring.

2. TACTICAL ATHLETE TRAINING (TAT)

Train. Practice. Evolve. TAT events are pure development. This is where the work gets done before the timer counts for real. Designed as comprehensive clinics, these events focus on building better shooters and smarter athletes.

Skill Building: We focus on the fundamentals that win matches: improving your accuracy, learning to shoot effectively while fatigued, and gaining the experience needed to succeed in future competitions.
Practice the Standard: We utilize these events to run Practice Classifiers. This provides a dual benefit:
The Ultimate Prep: Whether you are prepping for the RLS League, The Patriot Games, or Apex Shootout, this is where you sharpen the blade.

3. THE ENDURANCE SERIES

Go the Distance. Together. We believe endurance is the foundation of the tactical athlete. This series combines live-fire endurance matches with community-building physical challenges.

Competition Prep: We host long-format shooting events involving rucking and land navigation to prepare you for Green Beret Fitness, the Gamut Challenge, and other Run & Gun competitions.
Community Sweat: Not every event requires a trigger pull. We host Ruck Clubs, trail runs, and group PT sessions designed purely to build aerobic capacity and camaraderie.
The Vibe: We suffer together, we grow together.

4. MONTHLY SHOOTING SPECIALS

Pure Performance. Specialty Skills. Sometimes you need to specialize. We host monthly matches designed to test specific skill sets in a lower-stakes environment.

Night Vision Suppressed Rifle Matches - Hosted by Tampa Bay Photonics: Own the night. These are dedicated low-light events for competitors interested in trying NODs (Night Observation Devices) and shooting. Test your IR laser zero, passive aiming concepts, and movement in the dark.
Outlaw Pistol League: Think USPSA speed without the red tape. Fast, aggressive courses of fire designed to test your draw, movement, and accuracy.

[The Methodology]

BUILT FOR THE FIGHT

We treat shooting as a sport, and we treat shooters as athletes. To prepare you for the 2026 season, our programming focuses on the distinct modalities used by the sport's top champions:

Structural Strength: We lift heavy. Deadlifts, squats, and presses are foundational. You need raw power to manipulate the environment and control the weapon.
Engine Building: It’s about work capacity. We utilize assault bikes, burpees and running—often with a heavy ruck on your back—to test your aerobic threshold and recovery speed.
Load Management: It’s not enough to lift it; you have to move it. Expect farmers carries and sandbag movements over challenging distances that test your grip and mental fortitude.
Compromised Shooting: The physical work is simply the buy-in for the shot. We train the ability to transition instantly from max-effort exertion to a stable firing solution, demanding accuracy when the body is compromised.
